Hi, my neighbor works in the front office of a special needs school for learning disabilities and autism. They are having a local newspaper come in for some free press and she wants to decorate the main bulletin board. The school has children from 4th-12th. She is looking for ideas. Can you suggest anything?

What about an "I CAN" board? You could have teachers take digital pics of students and add captions, underneath telling what the students CAN do.

How about including a social-story about Newspapers (or reading/books) as the theme of the bulletin board? The students could do drawings or art projects to decorate the story. She could include a caption on the board that explains the function of social-stories when working with Autism. Thus, educating the public and showing off the students efforts.
