The first day is getting closer and closer and I'm so excited (and nervous)! I've gotten so many great ideas from here and I'm at a slump with Bulletin board type things. I'm doing and insect theme and here is what I have so far: - "Buggy for Books" for Library - Miss Suzy's Busy Bees for classroom helpers - Maybe "Flying into first grade" with Butterflies to decorate the door? - For weather, each day the weather helper draws a picture of the weather on a paper plate and we add it to a caterpillar which will go around the room. Anyone have any ideas for a good work board/Different door idea? And if you can think of any other cute insect ideas I'd love those too! It's so fun settin up the room!
How about one of these ideas... ~"Hoppin' on Into 1st Grade/Ms. ___'s Room"... you could have "cute" grasshoppers ~"Buggin' into 1st Grade"... mix of different bugs ~"Fluttering Around First Grade".. butterflies
When I student taught, we had a Ladybug theme for Right to Read Week. My cooperating teacher made a bulletin board covered in Ladybugs and enlarged a cartoon drawing of an old woman with a cane. The caption at the top of the board was, "Don't BUG us LADY, we're trying to read!" She did the words "Lady" and Bug" in red with black dots.
For my student work wall I have BEE UTIFUL WORK (with a bee in between BEE and UTIFUL). You could do, "Don't bug me, I'm writing." Or "We're buggy about writing!" Or "Buzzing With Good Work" .. I like that one.
I teach 2nd grade and my classroom theme is frogs. On my door I have a huge frog and "hopping into 2nd grade" and I have frogs all over the door with a child's name on each one. It is so cute.
