I broke down and wore a turtleneck sweater for the first time this season today. It was only about 40 degrees when I left the house this morning. The high for today was only around 60 and it's back down to about 50 now. I think I may even need to throw on my winter coat when my fiance and I go out tonight. It's all gray and cold outside...it feels like winter....

Where was I when summer ended???

We had a light freeze here last night, so some of our flowers are done now. Daytime temps are perfect, 70's and maybe 80 tomorrow.

I broke out my favourite black turtleneck earlier this week. It's been chilly in the mornings (and I have yard duty before school almost every day) and my room is one of the coldest in the school. This is my favourite time of the year--I love the crisp, cool mornings and the bright sunshine we are having.

It is not to bad here. I just walked in our high school's homecoming parade with my class and all I wore was a sweatshirt. We do have a freeze warning for tonight.

Those of us around here are hoping for a "Subway Series"... with the Mets winning, of course. It's too EARLY for it to be cold!

I love fall too. It's my favorite season. I really like the temps in the lower to mid 60s, though. It's too early to be going down to the low 40s at night!

It's pretty nice out here too. A little windy, but the sun is shining and it's about 63 degrees out right now. It's supposed to be beautiful tomorrow too. I'm hoping to go apple and pumpkin picking!!

Look what I found for next week....
The new 00z GFS Bufkit is now forecasting 12″ of snow for next Thursday…YIKES! It’s probably way overdone…but…you better enjoy the nice weather this weekend!! Some accumulating snow is certainly a distinct possibility.

Joe Bastardi of Accu-Weather says: “A Wild 10-Day Period with unbelievable early season cold and snow over the Plains and into the Midwest and Lakes.”

From the Extended Outlook from the NWS: “Great Lakes: IT WILL BE COLD ENOUGH FOR LAKE-EFFECT SNOW SQUALLS THURS. INTO FRI. OVER THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES.” Spread the word…tell your friends…enjoy the fall color and get what outdoor work you can get done by next Tuesday evening! The European model gives us our first snowflakes and a 20 mph wind off the lake with temps. in the upper 30s to low 40s. It looks nasty Thurs. and Friday.

    Winter sucks!

Last year we got some snow a few days before Halloween. The 31st was on a Monday and I think it snowed on the Saturday before. Nothing stuck because the ground was no where near cold enough, but it was still really early to be seeing the flakes. It ended up being about 80 degrees on Halloween, though only a few days later!

Is there a website that anyone knows of that can possibly predict when snow will start in different parts of the country? (more like a Famer's Almanac kind of thing than a weather site)

I envy all of you, i is still int he 90's here although this moringins soccers games were great it was like 74, but not now, we might get a week of fall here in Texas maybe in November, I love fall too, it is my favorite time of the year, I just wish we had one. My inlaws live in Canada (they just moved there 2 months ago from Texas)and it when we talked to them at noon it was -3 degrees!8)

Count yourself luck if you are wearing sweaters I want to I freeze at school, but I would melt as soon as I walked outside. And I am tired of my summer clothes! LOL

I want FALL!!! The weatherman said the "s" word for next Wed and Thur. The news anchor had a hard time after that one. He just couldn't believe this early in the year-after we had a hot summer and a great fall-so far!

I guess I will have to put the capri's and t's away! I just wore them on Friday and Today (77), by Thursday it will be a high of 37-if we are lucky with snow!!!!!!!

I just hope the kiddos remember to bring their jackets and dress warm!!

Definitely a much warmer day today. It was about 75 degrees and sunny. It was beautiful!! Unfortunately I didn't get to go apple picking at all this weekend because the other couple we go with every year was busy all weekend, but hopefully we'll go next weekend! It's supposed to be back into the 50s by then, though.

Well, I just got home from the BEACH!!!!

It's a gorgeous day on Long Island. My neighbor and I packed the 4 kids into my van and drove down to the beach for a few hours. The kids played on the dunes, then we hit the incredibly crowded playground for a while.

I now have 3 cranky tired kids, but it was worth it for one more shot at the beach before the cold weather hits :D

It was 77 yesterday. Low 60's today. They're calling high of 40 and snow (flurries) on Thursday, then warmer for the weekend.

    I LOVE Chicago... ;)
