    I love it.

I applaud this teacher for his decision and the words he spoke after the fact. Tough love.

Handled like a pro. Not something just anyone could pull off, but because the teacher is respected by the students it works for him.

He looks like a strong, well-respected teacher who takes his position seriously. I wish there were more teachers like him in our schools today, especially mine.

"If you can't talk it out, get out." I respect that.

I think it worked for him because of his physical stature and voice. I'm not sure getting in their faces would play so well if the teacher was say a 60 year old woman who is five feet tall.

I disagree, as other have posted, it's about respect.

I'm not so sure about that. His physical stature may have had some impact, but I think that the fact that his students seem to respect him is a much bigger factor. I'm a short, chubby female, but I manage to get students to back off when they get heated like that. I've had a few near-misses in my classroom over the years, and I've de-escalated those situations not through my physical strength or voice but through my connections with those students and my ability to figure out what to say and how to say it in the moment.

Have you ever had a 5 foot tall 60 year old woman cuss you out? It can be terrifying. :p

    I am a fan.

Kids don't want to fight. Especially boys. It has been my experience that they often welcome the opportunity for someone to end it before it starts. They might not act like it, but its true.

I really laughed out loud at this one because we have a 50 year old aide who is less than 5 feet tall and she can mean BUSINESS.

Unfortunately, he probably would've been fired in my district.
