I don't typically like receiving compliments--I get all awkward, and I certainly don't typically share compliments I receive with others. That said, this year has been very challenging and I received some nice feedback today. Do I have permission to brag a little?

    Thank you! :)

I met with my principal today for my formal evaluation. He's a man of few words. Very few. But as he was going through each standard in the paperwork he set it down and said, "Mrs. Teacher, to be honest, I can't think of an area to mark for improvement. I know you're always reflecting and working to make your classroom an even better place for your students, but there isn't anything I see that needs to be addressed. You really are just a great teacher." He picked up the paperwork again, because he has to summarize each standard, and when he came to the one regarding creating and maintaining an effective and comfortable learning environment for all students he again set it down for a moment and complimented me for this in particular and then said "there is none better." Like I said, we have a really difficult group this year so at this point I'm afraid happy-beams are about the explode from my chest like on a cartoon of Care Bares or something. In the end he was to record and explain his final comments. He tells me, "I don't have any yet, but I will soon enough, and I want you to know that when I have grandchildren, I would want them to be in your classroom. You are, at a very young age, already a master teacher." I'm on a high, I must admit. I'm not a master teacher, trust me, but the words are very appreciated. Everything I do is for the students, but every once and again I wonder if anyone--my husband, my principal, the students themselves--take notice. I guess he does. :)
