I am looking for ideas for a school wide non-competitive incentive.
Last year we had a competition between grade levels for the most box tops and we collected more than our goal. A problem was that children in the same families fought and stole over the box tops.

So this year we want it to be a school wide incentive with one large celebration at the end and a few little ones along the way. So far the ideas have been...
    dodge ball
movie outside on the school's wall
    trading teachers for a day
    dress up days
    Wii (somehow)

We are a 4K-12 school housed in one building. So the incentives could include all or be divided into grade levels.

We are literally in the middle of no where and bus rides to town are 25 miles away. That may get pricey.

    Ideas anyone?

This is really not an answer to your question, but..... :) Our most favorite promotion each year in the elementary where we have just one section of each grade is a "snowball fight" between classes. For every 25 coupons a class brings in, they earn a cut out snowball. Classes "throw" snowballs at other classes by taping snowballs to the outside of the windows by each door. At the end, the class with the least snowballs wins. Every class goes to the cafeteria for hot chocolate afterwards. There is no special prize for the class that "wins" other than just the "thrill of victory". :)

Our kids AND staff really have fun with this game, and there is a LOT of strategy and teamwork involved as each team tries to figure out just who to "snowball". Not an answer to your question, but it is a promotion that is fun and has really helped us bring in a lot of Box Tops.

*Some years, we have had the kids bring plastic sleds and have all gone sledding on a hill...not a big one and the only one in town!...just behind our playground, and then had our hot chocolate. :)
