    Hi,

I have a few students who are reading at the Fountas and Pinnell levels M-P.

I have several sets of books that are for reading level S and above in my class. I want to do literature circles with this class but I believe it would be a disaster for these weaker kids unless I can find a set of good books that would work for their reading level. Do you have any suggested books that I could track down that might work for these lower level readers?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I second anything by Andrew Clements. Also try the Hank Zipzer books or Storm Runners. Roland Smith is a great author that tends to pull in low readers as well.

You don't want to insult them by using books they would think are too babyish. I agree with the Andrew Clements suggestion - Frindle would be great. Could they handle Shiloh? What about A Wrinkle in Time?

    my favorite book site

I always go to bookwizard when I am looking for books at particular levels. It can be leveled by Fountas Pinnell. Might find some new titles there.
