I am too! I just joined and I have mailed and ordered books already. I thought that it would be a good way to get rid of the books that are just sitting on my shelf. Someone else can enjoy them! Can't wait to start reading The Curious Incident. . . Hope it gets here soon. :)

I'm reading '19 Minutes' by Jodi Piccoult right now. Could lead to interesting discussions on bullying in schools...

    czacza,

I am actually starting to read 19 Minutes too. I have read other books by Jodi Piccoult.

This would be interesting to see where this goes in terms of discussions. We will have to see...

czacza- I am currently re-reading 19 Minutes. The first time I read it I couldn't put it down. It was really depressing but I love the way Jodi Picoult gives insight into her characters. I don't know how far you are into the story but it is really good! And while the whole scenerio is scary( don't want to spoil the story line for someone else) it would lead into a great discussion on bullying.

It is an adult read. It won several awards and was a book club pick for the Today show. If you google it it has great reviews, many by people who are autistic. It is a mystery novel told from the point of view of a fifteen-year-old with Asperger's.

Seriously why didn't I think of looking at the library? I'm going there this afternoon. Argh. I guess I'm so used to getting books in the youth section, I forget that they have adult books.... oh well!

My library even lets you "look" online and puts a hold on it for you..so I just walk in and use the self check out and I am out in minutes...........because if I go in-in I am there FOREVER! :)

The library in GA has the same system, but you can even look online from home and put a hold on it. They will have it waiting at the counter for you. Talk about service!!

:)It has different types of chapters...and even though I read it all, we can discuss it in parts.
I am willing to follow, I have never been part of a book club, I don't know how they work.

I have only read the first few pages (at my doctor's office), and I'm already hooked! This kid sounds like an older version of my nephew (who has Asperger syndrome)!

I am on chapter 83 which translates to page 50. I can totally identify with going off on tangents when I'm thinking about something.

I finished my copy around 3:30 this morning, and loved almost every word! If you are easily offended by the "f" word, you probaby won't like it. I don't like the word, but in the interest of a good book/story/character analysis, I will still read the book.
