I started a blog today, and I would like to see other early elementary blogs to see how yours are formatted. Anyone willing to share?

    Thanks!

This is mine, a work in progress! :) I'm still not really happy with the format, but haven't had the time to sit down and "play" with it yet this summer.

    Love your blog!

Kinder, I love your blog! I've been reading Halpey's in google reader each day. It offers lots of inspiration, and movitvation for me. It's great that we have the discussion group, and these blogs to connect and get ideas!

    Thanks!

Question about the blogs... who reads them? (I LOVE them!) Do you write them with an audience in mind, or do you write them for yourself as a sort of self-reflection. Do your parents ever see them? Other colleagues? Just wondering. I am interested in starting one.

I don't think many people read mine -but I had a really hard time finding resources for teaching GT in early childhood-so my purpose in starting it was sharing ideas with other teachers. Even if one person finds an idea they can use. A website that I really respect in the GT realm posted a link to one of my entries-I'm such a nerd, but that was so exciting for me. The fact that someone out there was actually reading it and wanting to pass it on :wow:.

I use a lot of pics so it's also kind of a record for myself-I can go back and remember that activity and how much the kids liked it. I put a link on my class site, but I don't think my parents have ever logged on, no one has ever said anything. I shared it with one other teacher at my school and my admin knows about it, but I don't think any of them actually follow it or anything. Sometimes I'll update it at school-the kids love to see their work posted-hey, I made that!

I am primarily targeting my parents. I have a webpage, but this will just be so much easier to update.

Oh sorry, I didn't see that you meant for parents until I posted. I'm currently working on mine for the class and will share it in a few days.

Mine is about my thinking about teaching, writing, and reading. It's fairly new - only three or four posts so far (one of which I cross-posted here at a-z.

    Here's mine: mrmepham.wordpress.com

Wordpress gives you lots of layout options.

This is my blog...I teach 1st. I just recently started it so I don't really have much to offer yet.

    http://athriftyteacher.blogspot.com/

I don't really have a particular audience in mind...other teachers might find some things interesting and useful...and then I think random people might find it interesting because I plan on including elements of how it differs to teach on a military post with military kiddos.

I also have a classroom one set up for parents, same layout but I just keep that one private since I put pics of kiddos on it. :)

I think I will do a blog next year instead of a class website. I only used the website sparingly this year and rarely kept up with it, I want to find something that is simple to work with. I also want to start a blog myself that parents and students would not see.

I started blogging in February and love it! I write with other teachers in mind though so my blog is not for students or parents.
I've been amazed at how many awesome teacher blogs there are and I've gotten so many great ideas from others. I just love the blogging "community" I've found.

My school does blogs through blogger.com also. We just started using them in January this year and we have fallen in love with this. Our only problem is getting most parents involved. They kind of see it as something extra that they do not need to really look at it. Of course we have some parents who love it.

Mine is jschmits.blogspot.com. The other teachers in our school that have them are jdee.blogspot.com and jtwehues.blogspot.com. Enjoy

I contribute a bit on Ms. Jasztal's blog too... but I started my own classroom blog as well since I sell on TpT too! I didn't want to overrun Victoria's group blog with my documents and ramblings! It's a third grade blog! http://www.oneextradegree.blogspot.com
    I love the blogging community!
