My nephew is in Europe right now and his leader is using a wonderful blog to post videos and pictures. I used Shutterfly this past year and really enjoyed it, but I think I'd enjoy a blog more. What blogs do you use?
I'm just now setting up a blog with blogger. I want to have a place to blog about my running in general, my upcoming marathon training, recipes I create or try, restaurants, and anything else related to food. I'm totally new to blogging so I can't tell you yet whether or not I like blogger, but it's one of the main blog hosting websites so that's why I went with it. I'm having issues with adding gad/wid gets and with finding a blog skin that I like. It definitely takes some time to set one up!
I use wordpress because it tracks my stats for me. It shows how many visits I get a day, what google searches people used to find my site and which blogs were read the most. I love knowing that! It also lets you add tags to your blogs and you can search other people's blogs who have used the same tags. Wordpress If you'd like to see my blog, send me a PM. I keep most of my blogs password protected because I have a crazy ex husband.
Here's my silly, not password protected blog: http://surroundedbysmiles.wordpress.com I just started it today, actually. I've been meaning to do it for awhile... This thread inspired me to get off my tush and do it!
I use typepad - not free, but lets me do all sorts of things - stat counter, see what phrases people use to find me, can have as many as I want, emails address, etc.
I'm thinking about starting a blog. My brother in law suggested it to help with name recognition if I decide to take a leap of faith and try to start a math tutoring business. Thanks for starting this thread, Hoot! I hope you don't mind if I steal some of the suggestions
I started two, but I haven't had much time to work on them. I have two new books to review, and more ideas than I can count for the eco-friendly one. I have a version of each on both wordpress and blogger. I don't know which one I like better to post to long-term, so I grabbed my names on both! I like the blogger versions better visually, though: http://sproutclassrooms.blogspot.com/ http://sproutbookreviews.blogspot.com/ Oh my gosh. I just realized how long it's been since I posted. Added to tomorrow's to-do list.... update blogs....
I use blogspot.com, and I also find it incredibly easy to navigate...so does my mother when she responds to me--and she is incredibly computer-challenged!
I love Wordpress so much, I want to marry it and have its babies. Blogger, not so much. Too many issues. I had a Blogger blog for four years and was hijacked twice, shut down because Blogger saw some keywords that made them think it was porn*, had over a year's worth of writing lost in Blogger "down time," and just got fed up with the ignorance. But Wordpress? I'm in LOVE. Lust, even. * The suspicious words were "ass" and "homophones." Go figure. I do not react well to stupidity. Duh.
