    I am a student teacher and I have to teach a social studies unit on black history month. All of the things I look at online are for higher grades. Is there anyone who has something that would work well for second grade with black history month or know of a link that would show me some good activities so I can develop my own lesson? Any help is great!

    Great Books for Black History Month

    There are some great books out there about lesser known black individuals that are great to share and discuss. Check out;

    Major Taylor, Champion Cyclist by LEsa Cline-Ransom
    Nobody Owns The Sky: The Story of "Brave Bessie" Coleman by Reeve Lindberg
    Wilma Unlimited by Kathleen Krull

    It is interesting to share about individuals other than the most well know like, MLK, Jr. or Harriett Tubman. Hope they help.
