I teach third grade and for Black History Month I was planning on having my kids make "Black History Trading Cards." In short, I was planning on providing them with lots of biographies on famous and historical African Americans and they could pick any person to make a trading card for (picture, dates of birth/(death), five important facts, etc.)

My question is does anybody know of any good (and free) black history biographies at a third grade (or even second grade) reading level online?

I bought a teacher resource book called Famous Americans from the scholastic dollar days sale and it has short bios that would be good for second and third. It has George Washington Carver, Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King, Jr. I can get the isbn number if needed.
