Really Good Stuff has a lot of nice stuff, but it's all very expensive.

Around here, the dollar stores have whole aisles filled with plastic bins of all different sizes, shapes, and styles. They seem to change out their stock fairly often, because there's always different stuff when I go there.

I'd start there and see what you can make work.

I was in Dollar General today and they had gotten some bins just like those in but not in primary colors. They were in the back to school organization section. I've spent the afternoon deciding if I could use any of those---I really like them!

It may have been Dollar General. I'm not sure Family Dollar is a store? They were well worth it.

I have learned, to my hubby's amazement, that you can never have too many bins. I buy them everywhere. Even bought them on vacation in England once...I think I'm addicted to bins.

I don't care if they're primary colors or murky brown, to be honest. :) Hahaha, sorry.

Thank you so much for all your help. I will go out looking for these. I would love using these as reading bins for the students like the teacher I linked.

Now, do you recommend I do this for advanced reading or homeroom? Probably advanced reading...

I use plain old magazine files. I get the plain brown ones for cheap and the kids decorate them and take them home at the end of the year.

Where can you pick up those for cheap? What price? I failed at the container idea and actually don't like it as much as I thought. Also, I didn't find anything at any of the above stores.

I saw them today at Target in the dollar spot. They came in primary colors, and were made of very sturdy plastic. They also had primary colors of large, flat bins, and the three-section bins with a handle. I bought 2 of the 3 section bins in green, for pencils, glue, scissors, etc. and 4 flat bins to hold manipulatives on the shelf. They were only beginning to put out teacher supplies, so there was not alot of stuff out yet.

Actually, I think the bins even had a slot to slide in a name label!

Yes, it had a slot for name label. I happened to stop by at target and saw them. I took the whole thing (10 good ones). Not much colors... but can't complain for that price! :D

My first year of teaching, i found some similar bins at the 99 cents store. If i had known, i would of gotten more.

I saw them in Target in Harrisburg Pa on Thursday, the 12th. It seemed like they were just filling the dollar spot with back to school items, as there was not alot of stuff there, and the old things were still out. Anyway, I hope you can find them! Good luck!

I found the bins at Target yesterday in the dollar section. I also found the stackable bins that I have been looking for at Super Target. It comes with three colored bins and it even has WHEELS!! That one was only 14.99! Good luck on your search!
