Since I won't be able to post tomorrow which is my normal weigh-in, I'll post it today. It will be close enough This Week: Down 3.5 Total: Down 10.5
Just keep at it, SC. When I know that I have eaten well and exercised enough to lose weight and the scale doesn't show it I try to tell myself that it's water weight and the next week I will have an even better week! That's great that your down this week, MrsC! Congratulations, Iowa Teacher!
Remember that they are in a boot-camp style setting where they work out 4-6 hours every day along with strict calorie restriction.
Great job Iowa and Mrs.DLC!! My OWI is Sunday but I might step on the scale tomorrow to see how I'm doing.
TeacherNY, I weigh daily-helps keep me on track. I know weight fluctuates, but I would hate to happen to be up on the day I weighed in weekly!! Disheartening! That water weight is bad after eating out, so it is usually gone in 2 days!!
It's easy when you have plenty to lose. Anyway, I hope to be down even more. I was running around all day working on something for tomorrow that I didn't even take a lunch. My first meal was 6:15 tonight! :yawn:
Thanks! I appreciate the encouragement. I am going to bust my behind again next week and see if the body starts to respond. I have new added incentive... My dh just gave me a girls weekend cruise for my mother's day/b-day present in May to go off with just my besties! I am loving that!
SC-- that sounds fabulous!!! Paste a picture of something tropical on your fridge!! I know my weigh in day is Sunday, but I just got on the scale-- I'm down to 138!!! Past the dreaded 140 milestone!!! (OK, only 6 pounds total in 3 weeks, not HUGE. But psychologically it's tremendous!!!!) And it's totally do-able; I'm just drinking more water, not snacking between meals (especially at work where the faculty room is allways stocked with muffins and bagels) and trying to walk just a little more. No major lifestyle changes, no promises I know I won't keep. Doing the happy dance!!!!
Another 1.5 down. I need to keep reminding myself, it took me 5 years to put 45 pounds on, its not going to come off in a week. If I keep going at this rate, I will be very happy though!
Congrats, lnm130! That's a perfect rate to be losing. I've told myself that I'll be happy with 1-2 pounds/week. I'd be thrilled if I could lose all of this weight instantly, but I know that's not going to happen. I'll be thrilled if I can reach my goal weight by the end of the summer.
Yeah, Alice!! 2 pounds a week is huge- that's 100 pounds in a year (which you DON'T need to lose!) I reached goal at WW 2 weeks ago and now I'm down another 5 from there...been walking a lot, riding the recumbent bike at least 30 minutes per day...tutoring 2-3 hours a day after school really helped me cut down on the 'mindless snacks' after school!! I weigh now what I did at age 19...
I'm amazed at the water weight I gain after eating out. There must be so much sodium in restaurant food. I'll usually gain 2 pounds and it takes for it to disappear, too.
I'm traveling, and the house where I'm staying doesn't have a scale. I'll weigh in Monday, though I'm sure I've gained. Being out of town, I've been eating out more than usual and not making very good choices, plus my doctor put me on the medicine that makes me gain weight, and took me off the one that makes me lose weight. I'm sure I'll have gained all the water weight back by the time I weigh in.
I would be THRILLED to be down 3 lbs in 3 weeks. I talked to a trainer this past week and he told me to eat whatever I want(with moderation) up until 3 pm and after that time no carbs whatsoever. He said that will drop the weight on any person! I guess I will try it!
So proud! I just ate some breakfast and I am letting my food settle and then heading to the gym. I better see an improvement this week!
Thanks! That makes 4.4 lbs in 3 weeks. Not too shabby. I knew the exercising was going to help. My goal this week is 4 days. I'm going to put down exercise on my calendar for Sun, Tues, Wed, and Fri. If I have to miss one of those days I can still get it done by Saturday. Here's to a great week everyone!!!
132.5 - I hit my short term goal. Thank you all. I've been surprised by how much this thread has helped me stay on track (and get back on track when I've strayed). So, I've lost about 3 pounds in in 4 weeks. My next short term goal is 131. I'll give myself 2 weeks - 2/7.
So, last week I officially signed up for Weight Watchers. I went and weighed in yesterday, and I have lost 5.2 pounds. Whoopeeee!

Everyone is doing great! Keep it up. I don't weigh in again till Wednesday, but I had a great workout this morning. My food diary is keeping me so honest...made cookies for my DD and DH last night and didn't even lick the batter off my fingers!
Congrats on the losses girls!! I know I've lost weight since Wed, but I'm not sure exactly how much. I know its between 1-3 lbs. I plan on working out 5 days this week. Dh has decided he's going to start exercising as well. Tomorrow is treadmill and weight lifting.
Wow! I'm super impressed. Today is my mom's birthday, and I have to admit that I gave in and had a tiny piece of the cookie cake (I love those things).
I've exercised and semi-dieted for a whole week now and probably haven't lost a pound but I feel better. I just signed up for Myfitnepal.com this past week and I'm so excited about recording my food and time exercising. Please be my friend! PM me...
I went to the gym tonight and ran on the treadmill for 10 minutes, 30 minutes total. Plus did some weights for about 15 minutes. The next two days are class days so I'll be doing some hard cardio on those days. I hope I'm at least down 2 lbs by Wed.
