Memphis wants everyone else to do his dirty work by bluntly telling them. He needs to get them to do what he wants without bossing them. Make them feel like it's their idea under his HOH. The whole David thing is just odd. He lacks emotion and makes him difficult for houseguests to like. Us too. Yet I do.
Memphis: Can't stand the dude. While we were watching, I kept calling him "King Memphis" because that's exactly how he is acting when he dictates how things are going to be done. For me personally, and I think for a fair number of people, talking to me that way when we are supposed to be in an alliance or team would absolutely shut me down. I'm not there to play Memphis' game; I'm there to play my own. Also, it seemed like he had not noticed that Day and Dani and Nicole were pretty tight, or at least tighter than Dani and Nicole wanted anyone to think. Tyler caught on right away. Memphis has such tunnel vision and is so arrogant that I think it blinds him to obvious truths. I hope that will be his downfall. Also, in what world is David a threat? *eyeroll* Christmas: She is flying up to the top of my "Mean Girls" list. I had neutral-to-positive feelings about her before this season, but now she seems insufferable to me. She thinks that she is running things, when in reality she is just doing whatever the guys tell her to do. I will give her credit for the way she approached David, which I think was an excellent display of manipulation. David: Given his situation, which was almost entirely caused by his own prior actions, I think it was wise to take Christmas' deal. He didn't have many other choices, and that deal may let him advance another week or two. Day: When she gave her speech before the vote, I thought for sure she had found out about Nicole's vote against Ian, but later it became clear that she did not know about that. I hope she uses that against Nicole if the time comes later. At this point I'm rooting for Kevin, but who knows how long he'll last. Sigh. I hate when a big group runs everything all the time. It makes the show so boring.
Also, since it seems to be a theme this season, to what extent do you think race is a factor in nominations and votes? It is plainly obvious that most of the nominees have been black or brown, and I think that's very curious.
I had not seen this season until fairly recently. ( The time David kept his promise to vote out Tyler, but got blamed for lying when Nicole changed her vote to appease Dani. ) After the way they treated him, I wanted him to win. I do not know what happened before that episode with David. Just from what I saw, I had been hoping they'd have had a chance as a group if Tyler had been voted out. Now it looks like they'll get picked off. As I was watching Christmas talking to David, I was thinking: She is 1 slick operator too. She has been pretty quiet in the time I have been watching. If you really think about it, what kind of person would want to be on a show like that when they know it is about lying, deception, and manipulation? Some are wanna be actors. They have to be extreme attention seekers and pot stirrers. I am doubting any of them have good friends...........for good reason. Memphis and Dani are the worst from what I have seen. Still the show has its draw. I think race could play a part in it along with clashing personalities. Just from what I have seen Dayvon ( sp?) really screwed up by trusting Nicole over David. The game could have headed in a better way if that had not happened.
With the Memphis thing, I wouldn't want to work with Memphis and wouldn't like to be talked to the way he talks to people. However, there is some of his game I appreciate. Memphis does what is best for Memphis and not what is best for his alliance. I think some of the reason we have seen big alliances dominate the game is because people do what the big alliance wants to do even if that move isn't best for their game. Hard to feel bad for the past few players who have gone home or the next few who appear to be targets when they were ignoring, or in some cases actively working against, Kaysar and Janelle creating another side of the house.
I don't necessarily mind the lying and manipulation when it's to promote gameplay and within the scope of the game. I feel like it's similar to any other game where you want to keep information secret, like poker or hide-and-seek. The point of those games is to perform better than everyone else, which can mean omitting information and misleading the other players. I'm a-okay with that in games like Big Brother and Survivor. In fact, I think that the games are super boring without that factor. The best thing about Survivor, in my opinion, is the likelihood for blindsides, because everyone is so crafty. Blindsides almost never happen on BB, because everyone just puts it all out there all the time, and that gets tedious. I want intrigue and surprises and "Dustin moments" (remember that?), not predictability.
You make a good point. From Memphis' perspective, his gameplay has been really successful. I guess I just don't like him on a personal level, lol. But yes, he is focused on the end goal, rather than on keeping the peace (like many of his alliance members). I am still really bummed about Nicole's vote with Ian. For starters, I was rooting for him, in spite of his alliance with Nicole. Besides that, I don't think her move was all that smart. At the same time, and as much as I don't like her, I do think that she is good at reading people and situations, and I do think that she has good instinct for timing her moves. She is more dangerous than anyone in her alliance seems to realize, which baffles me because she already won this game once. They should have targeted her beginning on day 1!
YAY! I never thought I'd get so excited over a move in a show. I never thought Tyler was the 1 who would do it either. He finally knocked the smug smirk off of Dani's face. I had hoped for it, but never figured he had the guts to get rid of her.
So, they must have said something, but I totally missed that apparently the Sunday night episodes are being moved to Mondays. I was bummed when I went to tune in tonight! I like having a scheduled "fun" thing to watch on Sunday nights- it helps with the Sunday night blues. I'm not happy with this switch!
I never thought of it that way before, but it makes sense. I am not real competitive when playing games. Like I'd loan you money if you needed it while playing Monopoly. As a kid, I hated the game called Sorry! I did not like to wipe out someone's game. I had 1 game I played seriously a lot, but it was for $$ that I desperately needed when younger, and I had an uncanny knack for it. The shows are a bit different b//c it is longer than a quick game. Even though the players say they don't take it personally, many show that they do by their actions/ facial expressions . I guess the 1 part of the game that gets to me the most is when someone's lie gets blamed on another. They usually get over it by the end. Then I do like to see when the meanest ones get knocked out. ( Like Dani....lol I never really liked her from before.) It'd take a unique person to play that game. \
I can't get this schedule right. After figuring out the episode was supposed to be on tonight, I tuned in at the regular time for my area, 7 PM. Nope, football. Checked the schedule- apparently it's 8. So then I turn on my TV at like 7:56 and they appear to be well into the episode. IDK if my station just messed up or what, but this is a lot of effort to watch one episode . I didn't know what I missed so I turned it off. I'll watch it online tomorrow.
Hoping Tyler or Christmas win the POV and he puts up Memphis MIGHT go. Otherwise, I think it's Tyler out the door.
As far as I know, it's Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday now. It looks like the regular schedule is supposed to be 7 PM my time (8 if you're eastern time) every time, but they've pushed back certain episodes due to the debates, and at least on my local channel, it was pushed back this past Monday due to football. Here, it's on at 9 tonight and it looks like that will also be the case next Wed. after the presidential debate. I'm just going to have to be on top of looking at the local CBS schedule! I did figure out it was an issue with my local CBS the other night. IDK what they had going on, but after missing BB I tried to turn on the news 2-3 minutes before it was supposed to start, and they were well into the broadcast. So somehow they majorly messed up their timing for the whole night. I watched the episode I missed on demand the next day, and noticed the part that was on when I tried to turn it on for the beginning of the show was about 8 minutes in!
Thanks! I caught it last night. Only to see Tyler get the boot after making a good move! That makes sense b/c I watched the debates, but turned the tv off asap both times. ( My phone was ringing. I live in the Dark Ages without cable, so I need an old fashioned TV guide!
I REALLY do not like Christmas and Memphis so I wanted her to go. Memphis thinks he is King of the house so that would have stunned him which I would have loved. Otherwise, Tyler was probably the best move for them all. Enzo and Nicole are not winning anything. That's not good for them. The current jury really is not in favor of anyone except maybe Nicole.
Enjoyed nominations last night. Memphis has no clue he is the current target and I hope it remains that way. I really do not have a favorite at this point...maybe Cody. I'm unsure who America's favorite will be. Does it have to be a jury member? I'm guessing Janelle and Caesar otherwise.
YAY...Memphis is gone! I do think they should have spilt the vote only because it would help them with jury votes later. For some reason I am rooting for Enzo right now. But overall, I think Cody has played the best game. America's favorite? Janelle and Caesar? Tyler? Davonne?
I think Cody wins if he is in the final 2. Enzo and Nicole have to take each other if they have the option. I think they will both take Cody...MAYBE not Nicole. I'm sticking to America's favorite as Tyler, Janelle, or Davonne. Possibly Caesar. However, Tyler won it previously.
A very dominant win. A good finale I thought. After a season without much surprise, it was nice to see the surprise/upset Nicole had when she was cut at the end.
I agree that seeing Nicole surprised was a highlight. I believe Cody was devoted to her more but did not want a repeat of last time where he took Derrick and finished second. I'm sure he thought Nicole had some jury votes. He could not tell her that ahead of time because then she would not take him if she won. All game for $$$ I think Enzo could have received some votes if he was a better speaker. He was Enzo being Enzo but could not say he rode Cody's tail and then expect votes. I think if he said something like..."My plan was to have lots of fun, stay off the block, be in the right alliances, stay out of the drama, be liked by everyone, and win JUST ENOUGH comps along the way. I did that and here I am. What a ride it has been." Now I hope next season is all new contestants.
I was glad Cody won too, but I did feel a bit badly for Enzo when he got 0 votes. I agree that he shouldn't have won for just riding on coattails, though. And hey, he still gets $50K for doing that- that's nothing to sneeze at! I'm glad there was a season at all to watch with Covid, but I too look forward to a "regular" season next year with new contestants! The all stars thing wasn't my favorite.
Yep! Cody definitely won it. I was so glad to be able to see the end. It came on an hr later than usual and I was like thinking: I did it again.....I missed it!
