What is the best site for classroom webpages? I'm looking into Scholastic, but not sure what other free sites are out there.

If you use Scholastic, do you like it?

    Thanks!

I haven't personally used it (though I played with it once)... the other grade three teacher has her site hosted on www.weebly.com

It looks great, and seems quite easy to use.

I had a Scholastic webpage, but had trouble adding photographs to my page. My photos were always too big to post, and I had to keep downsizing them. Now I have a page on teacherweb.com. Not free, but so much easier to post pictures and even pdf documents.

I also use Weebly - not a lot of bells and whistles-but you can put information and pictures there very easily-very user-friendly.

Thanks, I will check these sites out. I've never even heard of weebly. I will get back to you all and let you know what I've decided. Thanks for taking the time to give your input!

I used Scholastic for a few years. It's not very user-friendly and it takes forever to post or update anything. I'd look for another service.

    Weebly

I had never heard of them before. I will check out their services now that so many people have endorsed them. Thanks for the info.

I also use to use Scholastic. I used it for a month before getting fed up.

Before you purchase to have someone host a website, make sure you also check with your school district. I have been able to have my websites hosted for free through the school. Just an FYI.

I use teacherweb. It is $30.00 a year for a site but is wonderful. I used it several years ago and got rid of it because it was so limited but decided to give it a try again this year. They have made many updates and it is great to use and very easy.
