I am so excited to say that I am being recommended for a fourth grade position! I've been stressing so much because school started back on the 7th, and I didn't get a job...but now it's pretty much a done deal!

Which is where my question comes in...being recommended to the board is nearly a for sure thing, isn't it? The realist in me is speaking to me.

It very rarely goes wrong at this point. Start to breathe. When is the meeting?

(If school already started, I'm surprised they are waiting on the board to let you work. I began working three weeks before I was board approved when I started mid-year.)

How long ago was that? I looked up my district and the next school board meeting is in September with school starting the August 25th

OP I feel you because the logistics are so crazy it's hard to breathe

Around here it's a formality. They also like you to go to the board meeting to introduce yourself!

There's a board meeting Tuesday night. It's a special called one since the district has 7 elementary jobs to fill. Wednesday through Friday will be days at the BoE. The start date for teaching is the 25th (a Monday).

I'm glad there's a little delay personally, so I can have time to get myself adjusted to my classroom. Being a first year teacher will be tough enough...I'll be glad for some days to plan!
