Being Recommended for Board Vote. Formality?

I've just received an offer for my first teaching job and was told the next step is that I'm being recommended to the board which will vote next month. I've done long-term sub jobs before and I'm aware my name was put to board vote for those instances, but I don't really know how the process works. Is this just a formality, or do I need to be worried that I might not actually get the job?

    Thanks!

I think that is typically a formality.

Yes, it's a formality. Sometimes you can't sign a contract until the board approves it, but it definitely means that they will give you a contract.
