What are some books you read at the beginning of the year? I always do First Day Jitters but it seems as though the kids have heard it a few times by the time they get to me. What about books for rules and procedures? I do No David! and my 5th graders love it! I also read Officer Buckle and Gloria and the kids will act out the rules like Gloria does. I'm looking for some ideas to freshen up the start of the year. TIA!
Amelia Bedelia's First Day of School looks cute. I've never read it but it looks like it would lead into a fun lesson on idioms.
