    Hello,
I was just hired as a basic skills teacher. It was a very quick, unexpected phone call and I forgot to ask if I would have a classroom or if I would be a floating teacher. I know this would be different with every district, but I’m curious to see what your experience has been. Do you basic skills teachers have your own room? A cart that you pull around? An office? TIA!

I can't imagine having basic skills on a cart. There are a lot of materials you will need so you should have your own classroom. I have never seen a basic skills class where it wasn't a self contained class where the same students and teacher were in the same classroom all day unless your school has some type of program I haven't seen before.

Why don't you call the school and ask?
