I received $250 in grant money for anything related to "balanced literacy." What should I use this for? I'm leaning away from books, as I also received several hundred dollars specifically for books.

    Thanks!

books on tape (mp3) kids can check out to take home, recorders and stop watches for timed repeated readings for fluency, a class set of white boards and markers, professional reading for yourself, letter stamps, writing center supplies, postage stamps so they can write letters to pen pals, journals, objects to sort by sounds (I like Lakeshore has short vowel and beginning sounds),fill in yourself dictionaries

    How great!
