I hate when I buy a batch of apples and one of them is rotten. It is like it just ruins the entire bunch. Waste of time, effort, and money buying that bag.

One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl.
Oh, give it one more try before you give up on love.
One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch girl.
Oh, I don't care what they say,
I don't care what you heard.

Never heard of that song before.

Thought you might appreciate the comment though Dave.

Funny thing...one bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, but a crab in a basket will pull all the others down every time.

That is true and I see your point. But if I didn't like a thread, I would stay off of it instead of complain and ask for it to be deleted. Ruining it for the people who actually are getting something positive out of it, is unnecessary.

What about the thin- skinned onion?? Is there a song for that, too?

On a similar note I always think it's funny how people are too cowardly to say what they really want to say to whom they want to say it to.

    Grow some ovaries.

    Just noticing.

    2 reasons:

    1. Noticed how easy it is to get something shoved to the archives (tried to avoid that initially here)
    2. Tried to be clever and see who could figure it out without having to be blunt.

And on another note, I as well as others, said what we really wanted to say earlier and you asked for it to be removed. So make up your mind with what you want.

I still don't know what's going on... But then again I am frequently clueless.

As a testament to that, I just got back from a full faculty meeting in which a lot of the teachers ended up in tears over a "broken faculty family" in which we aren't honest to eachother, and the fact that apparently there are a lot of social issues between the staff. O___O

I just thought everyone was extremely friendly, and this has been one of the most positive school environments I have EVER been to. I feel so out of the loop now.

All this drama was going on and I was just like, err... what's happening here?

To be honest Bob I do think lucybelle misunderstood the post that she took umbrage to and I am sure that once she understands how I meant she may not be upset and as you see I echo your other post.

Now there are some posts and maybe whole threads that may need to be deleted.

My mom was feminine so I guess it is hereditary.

I'm a professional, John Lee. I am self assured, a master teacher, have my lessons taped for use by our curriculum center to train new teachers, mentor student and new teachers, and coach teachers from other districts. I gently pushed back when someone attempted to throw me under the bus at a meeting I was at with my P in attendance. (and obviously by pushing back, I don't mean physically..:dizzy:) To be a good leader, you must stand up for yourself as much as you stand up for others.

What in the world is this thread all about? Peregrin, I'm with you. But I guess that's for the better. I hate drama.

I really thought we were talking about real apples at first. I'm like, hmmm, really? I'll have to pay more attention to them. I usually buy them separately...

The crab bag one was indeed a good one! :p

Hmmm, well, I wonder what prompted the OP to start such a thread, about apples. Now I want a yummy apple with almond butter on it.

Apples generally make my mouth itch. I think I have an allergic reaction to the small amounts of cyanide in them or something. I will eat one if there is nothing else though. My favorite ones are the granny smiths. =] I still love it when a student leaves an apple on my desk.

I was subbing in a grade 11 English class earlier this year (the only time I've ever subbed at the high school level) and I had a student give me an apple, with a face drawn on it in sharpie... I was actually quite impressed.

I once had to give an impromptu speech in an English class and the topic was "apple polishing". So that's what I talked about...different methods of polishing apples to make them shiny. The class thought it was quite amusing and thought I was really trying to be tongue-in-cheek.

It wasn't until later that I found out the real meaning of apple polishing.

So...sometimes it pays to be clueless.

I was annoyed at something and that is just the phrase I thought of to describe it.

    Never heard of "apple polishing"

Mine too! Actually, it has gotten worse and I can't eat apples anymore. My throat starts to swell and I have a bad allergic reaction. I never used to! :(

Me too! Though, I can eat them if they are in fruit salad with either lemon or pineapple juice on it. Strange, but it works.

And back to word play and metaphors...as a result of the metaphorical 'pushing back' to which I referred earlier, the committee whose meeting I attended is revamping their norms and procedures....sometimes the 'squeaky wheel gets the grease' and it's worth it to 'rattle a cage':D
