I'm so excited. I just picked up a dozen fertile eggs and an incubator. I should have chicks in 21 days! I plan on keeping the chicks for a few weeks. I can return them to the feed store where I bought the eggs. I have instructions on how to care for the eggs and chicks later. I can also call the feed store with my questions.

    Any advise?

we are hatching chicks in our classroom
April 17th is the day they should hatch
We used a flashlight to look through the egg shell and see the eye
We also told the children over and over that they must be careful when they are near the incubator
    Good Luck

Thanks for the flashlight idea! At how many days can you see the eyes?

I think it was the 7th or 8th day
My teachers googled hatching baby chicks and found some videos on You Tube
    It was really neat
