I saw Upsadaisy posted a quick announcement last week - Thanks! I had my baby Tuesday, September 5! She was exactly one week early, but I had a strange feeling that morning when I woke up that it was the day. My water broke around 2 in the afternoon and I had the baby at 10:57 pm. My goal was to stay really relaxed and calm so I could have natural birth and things went really well. I had a dr. appt that day, so I went to it at about 4 and saw the doctor around 5:15. She verified my water broke (although I was already positive what was going on) and sent us to the hospital. I had always planned to wait as long as possible to go the hospital, but since my water broke I had to head over when I was still in very early stage labor (only 1 cm). We got there around 6 pm. Long story short - Contractions weren't too noticable for most of the night. I started transition around 9 (but didn't realize it), was finished and 10 cm by 9:45, started pushing at 10 pm and had my baby girl at 10:57 pm. The nursing staff was scrambling around trying to get things ready because they were expecting me to be laboring all night. The doctor on call arrived about 10 minutes before the baby was born... The nurses kept telling me that they didn't want to deliver it. Aliyah Christine was 8 lbs. 8 oz. and 20.5 inches long. She has a full head of dark brown hair and has chubby, chubby cheeks! My family has always been born bald and blond so it was strange to see her dark brown hair. She looks just like my hubby, though! I don't want to post my pictures here or share the whole story, so if you want to see pictures, please feel free to pm me. Also, if you like to read detailed birth stories let me know and I'll include that. When I was pregnant I liked to read them, but I don't think it's something of general interest!
