Good afternoon! I have the opportunity to apply for a new position within my building (AP). My principal suggested to have a parent of whom I have taught several of her children to write a letter of rec since we don't do letters of recommendation for positions where multiple in house candidates are being considered. I am interested in knowing everyone's general thoughts about this. Would a letter from a stakeholder (parent) be powerful in this situation?

I think if your P suggested that you get that letter, it must be important.

I've never done it, but in this situation it sounds like a good idea to me.

Thank you all :) Sometimes it takes a visit from Captain Obvious to end an unnecessary case of analysis paralysis.
