I am going to be teaching a unit on Ancient Egypt to my first graders soon and was wondering if anyone knows of any places to get/order artifacts online? One of my colleagues is teaching her 4th graders about Lewis and Clark and was able get a chest of artifacts from some online source. It's sort of a library of articles to check out. I can't find anything on Ancient Egypt yet and thought I'd ask here. My kids are super excited to start this unit and I thought it would be fun to have something to show them (without me having to spend thousands of dollars by traveling there) .

    Thank you,

    Stephanie

You can mummify a carrot, I've seen that with little ones before. I've mummified a chicken before, but it's a bit involved, and too much for first. There are kits out there, just google it.
