Does anyone have a good idea for an art project I can do with my third grade students? We participate in Rodeo Art which is a new experience to me as I just moved to Texas and I have no idea what I want the kids to do. It can be anything having to do with the west or rodeo. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks
Something very simple would be to give them lariats (sp?) (which will really be made of yarn), have them dip them in paint, and paint designs. Crayola has a lot of nice scenery painting instructions. You could have them paint a western sunset or something. A really simple one would be to buy plastic cowboys and animals, have them paint dioramas, and place the figures inside.
Boots I saw a really cute article when the stock show was in our town about a boot project at one of our schools. The children designed their own cowboy boots. Some kids had drawn their design, some children painted on an old boot (they were really cool looking) and there were some big paper cut out boots that were drawn on then stuffed.
