All: Thanks to you all I was able to finalize my daughter's first name. Of the four names I had listed here in a thread I opened ealier in this forum - we chose 'Prisha' to be our daughter's first name. Not knowing anything about elementary & high school life here in US - your opinions were a great help with naming my baby and therefore want to thank all of you. We are scheduled to deliver the baby on Sep 7th - just 6 days away now!! So, the question I now have for you guys is: Is middle name something that can be made fun of as well? I ask because per Indian tradition - my daughter's middle name would be my first name - which is 'Viral' pronounced as 'Vee-ral'. But the obvious problem is it can be made fun of easily. You all being so close to students all day - I think are the best people to seek advice from. If middle names are made fun of as well - then I will think of another middle name for my daugther. PS: Our family last name is Jain. THANKS A TON IN ADVANCE!
Speaking for my own experience, I don't think most of the students even know each other's middle names, much less make fun of them.
I haven't a clue what any of my student's middle names are. I wouldn't worry about it at all. And BTW I think the name you have chosen is beautiful!
My kids barely know each others last names! haha So, I wouldn't worry too much about the middle name. Congrats on your child!
Most of my kids don't know them. And I feel like if they let them slip, then they automatically make fun of them for no reason. "haha, you middle name is donald. heh. Donald." And then they call the kid Donald all day even though it's a totally standard American name. That's mostly with boys though.
Congrats! Her middle name would end up as just a middle initial anyway, so a lot of the children won't even know what it is. Rebel1
Most kids don't know, until they all start sharing one day. And then EVERYONE gets made fun of for their middle name. And then it's over.
