    Hey

Well its funny you should mention him I emailed him a letter and I just recently mailed him a letter so I am hoping something will happen soon i am starting to get nervous. I met someone on another teacher site who teaches in GA at the one of the schools I am applying so she told me she would mention my name to her principal. SO i emailed her principal and i mentioned that I had spoke to her blah, blah so see what happens there. I know that all of the schools are testing till i believe the 27th so i am hoping after that i will hear something. I plan to contact the principals after the 27th.

I have an interview Tuesday for my dream job! :) I am soooo nervous and excited all at the same time! I'm more relaxed, because it is where I am doing my student teaching and where I went to Elementary School. But at the same time, that part of it makes me nervous. :( Ha!

Easter last weekend was terrible. All of my husband's family kept asking if I had a job for next year (two other "in-laws" married to my husband's cousins got their jobs back next year, so they are probably wondering what the heck is wrong with this girl?) It was really frustrating to tell all his aunts and uncles, etc. that the job search was "going." I just want to get somewhere!!!!

    hey

HEY, I totally know where you are coming from Easter was a little rough too LOL. Some people just dont realize how frustrating it can be. I am hoping I will hear something soon the school district i am interested in is done testing on the 27th, I am hoping when that is over with the principals will have time to review applications and etc. I did email them all of my stuff and then I mailed a packet out to them, I saw that they read the email but they never emailed me I was like OK ??? why didnt they at least say they would review it or something i just dont get it. Then i was going to call all of them because i was told to be persistent, some said not to call during testing and others said to go ahead and call i am soo confused. I think I might wait till after next week and call them. Sorry I am just ranting  LOL.

I always have a hard time trying to decided whether I should call or email or whatever. There's such a fine line between being persistent and being a pain! LOL I usually err on the side of caution and don't end up calling, but since I'm only a sub this year maybe I should be more persistent...

Ok glad to know that I am not the only one who checks websites more than once a day. I have sent out more resumes than I care to count all ready. One prospective interview. One school is doing a personality test online and they called and gave me my password. I am pretty sure that they arent passing out passwords to everyone except those they are going to interview. I am more upbeat about finding a position this year. There are almost twice as many openings this year compared to last year at this time. Plus I added to my certification so I have twice as many schools to apply too. ALthough that means twice as many resumes. Good luck to all!

You have to fill out an online personality test. How silly. Wouldn't it be easier to meet you.

I had to fill out a teacher profiler for one school...it asked me all sorts of questions with only 30 seconds to answer each question. Plus, it told me I can only take it once every three years. Yikes! I hope I answered it alright!

I know it may be out of your comfort level, but you guys might want to start looking in other states than where you're looking right now. You might find more job opportunities. And who says you have to stay there more than a year. At least it will be a years worth of experience to help recommend you somewhere else.

We're always needing teachers. Some areas more than others. I know that NW Arkansas is growing like a weed. We're opening new classrooms (if we have the room) each sememster. New schools are popping up everywhere so there is room for all the students.

Thats why i am being so flexible i have nothing really to anchor me here per se i mean my parents live here, my brother and sister but they can always come visit me. My Fiance loves his job here but he said he is more than willing to leave. Plus NJ is getting way too expensive i dont know how people do it. Miss W any jobs at your school Avaliable for next year? you can fill us in on ;)

    Hi all,
For those of you thinking about moving out of state to find a position I just checked out the Dekalb County Schools website here in Georgia and it has a listing for 246 elementary positions!! Whoa! Hope this helps. Have a great day everyone.

    hey

One of the other teacher boards i belong to teachers.net if you go to the state of GA one someone told me on there this:" Do NOT take a job in DeKalb County. The dysfunctional administrators in
DeKalb have County Office sanction to f*** with teachers as they choose. So
many of the experienced crowd that was at the County Office have retired or
moved on, so no one at the County Office really knows what is going on in
the school system. They are just getting paid and getting jobs for their
    cronies, relatives, or sex partners."

Yea, I have thought about looking in other states. I have a friend who is moving to Arkansas and is going to be better off house/money wise.

However, my wife still freaks out when I tell her I am going to apply for a position that is an hour and a half away from where she will be student teaching in the fall.

I had another school contact me today about coaching. They wanted a JV/F basketball coach and they had a really bad basketball team. I think they only won like 6 games last year. The pay wasnt that great at 30k but I would probably get a 4k stipend for coaching.
I will probably apply but I hate the fact that my number #1 schools have not made a decision yet so I may cave to a school that is not as good of a fit just to secure a job.

Hey well i got semi good news the personel secreatary emailed me saying she received my resume and etc. and if i had any questions to call her so i called her. I bascially asked her what step do i need to take next she was really really nice she said she had emailed me by accident, I previously heard from the personel dept so i was wondering why they emailed me again anyway. She said for me plan on coming down to GA for two days, call the principal and say I am going to be in town these two days and would love the opportunity to interview with you so thats what i am doing. I am going to call principals on Friday to set them up =) she also said if they cant set up any interviews with me to still come down and come to the personel dept and they will set them up for me. Plus I received in the mail that i am eligible for a teaching certificate down there its a non-renawable certificate but they said I have to take 3 semester hours and a computer class and then i can transfer it over to a clear reneable. This doesnt have to be done right away because the certificate they are giving me is good for 5yrs, so within this period time i have to take these classes. I am not worried because i wanted to go back for my Masters. SO sorry so long this is my semi good news =) i will keep you posted!
