Eh. I don't find it any more obnoxious than most commercials.

Hahah me too. I save a ton of money too since I don't know what new products or movies are coming out! Sometimes I will see a commercial on HULU but usually they are the funny Geico commercials. I love the little piggy one

    Honestly, it doesn't bother me.

The one set of commercials that are really getting to me are the Olympics "Thanks, mom" series. Ummm, what happened to dad??? I wouldn't mind if they had both, but all I've seen-- and the slogan-- refer only to mom.

That commercial is what, 60 seconds? I made it all of 20. Annoying, I agree.

I miss the Target one from last year with the teacher who puts 'lots of glitter' on the supply list...she also had hamsters named Lewis and Clark.

    I loved the glitter teacher!

I think the "notebooks and jeans" thing is cute, too. I usually end up singing it. Haha!

Ha...I'm surprised I haven't seen the Target commercial yet! That Staples commercial must be about 10 years old, but they always do play it around now. I like the Alice Cooper commercial, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyfqvrx9Jx0

I just said this last night to DH and DS! They didn't think it was a big deal since women are probably buying Tide (I think that's the product). And this is coming from DH who really does help out around the house, shops, cleans, etc. I thought he should dislike it.

Love the Staples one. Can't say Notebooks and Jeans is any more annoying than most commercials. We have Tivo so it's rare I see any commercials.

I have seen one referencing parents but it really annoys me. BOTH my parents rock and are supportive :) BF reminded me how much research goes into the commercials tho.

Great comment. As a society we frequently forget to thank dads! I have a great dad. I know there are a lot of great dads out there.

I never payed close enough attention to realize what this commercial was even saying but I noticed it a bunch of times. I would say for that reason it is an ineffective commercial.

The only Target commercial I've seen for back to school is the glitter one last year, which I enjoyed. Not sure why we don't see more...

Sad to say, I would totally sing that to my students. I came up with a class version of "All Star" and I have made a version "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" for my room this year. (My theme is Rock Stars.)

Do all 80's songs need creepy music videos. Some of the music videos from the 80's used to give me nightmares and this commercial reminds me of those videos.

Love this one too. DH was stay at home dad, and he had a smiley face on the calendar for the first day of school - our kids hated that, and the ad! He loved the ad.

Is he supposed to remind us of Neil Sadaka? (spelling?) I like this one much better than the notebooks and jeans one.

I hadn't seen the Target ads until tonite when I went to the youtube links. Maybe it depends on the market in which you live?

Maybe, I have seen science teacher, notebooks and jeans, and music teacher all during a 1 hour tv show. But there are 5 Targets that are within a 30 minute drive from me, so this is a big market for them.

I loved the notebooks and jeans commercial. Sorry. lol. But I have only seen it a couple times. If it's on repeatedly, any commercial will drive me nuts.

I don't mind the notebooks and jeans commercial. I agree with other posters, though, and can't stand the music teacher ones.

I like all the target commercials for back to school this year. I think it's creative.
I will say, however, that the notebooks and jeans teacher's pants also bother me!
