My husband is a doctor and got a job at UAB Hospital. We will be moving to Birmingham in May. I currently hold a Missouri and Illinois license. Does anyone know if my certificate will transfer w/o having to take tests? Or does anyone have any advice. I am finding it impossible to get ahold of anyone at ALSDE. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!
I teach in Montgomery in one of the magnet schools. I don't know about transferring certificates and all that but B'ham has some great schools especially around Hoover and Vestavia.
You're probably going to have to take the test. We have a teacher at our school who graduated from Univ. of AL years ago but taught all these years in Mississippi until recently. She moved back to AL to finish up teaching here. Her AL degree with a Miss. cert wasn't going to work so she took the praxis and passed. Yeah, Hoover, Vestavia, Mountain Brook... GREAT school systems! My cousin's husband is a doc at UAB/Children's. They live in Mt. Brook. Hope you like it down here!!!!!! Lori
