    and then return?

    Any advice?

A lot of it is coming back to me as I scour blogs and websites but it seems so overwhelming. I might as well just consider myself a first year teacher again.

How many years since you've last taught?

Check if your teaching credentials and certifications are still valid. If they have expired, you may need to take steps to renew them.

Things have changed significantly since covid, so that would be the biggest hurdle, I’d think.

Make sure that the credential is still valid, and then check to see how things will work to reinstate tenure if that applies. Here if you were tenured before you left, they can offer it after one year, but other places you have to start over.

Thanks for the replies. What is it that you are seeing in the classroom post covid in 2023? (more behavior, lower scores, apathy? ) I am in the process of taking tests to get certified again.
