Anyone else signed up for way too many seminars this summer?

I am going to be seminared out by the end of the month -- district seminars, Marilyn Burns, CSCOPE, and more

Everything I am taking should prove invaluable in the long run, but I am worn out. Thank goodness my July calendar is (and shall remain) schedule free!

Anyone else overdoing it this summer?

I was starting to feel that way. I have been trying to schedule them between my children's summer camp activities which gets to the seminars with just minutes to spare.

In addition to scheduling numerous workshops, I've borrowed tons of teaching books.

 You sound like me -- we went to vote in a run-off election the other day, and our polling place is an elementary school. There were a ton of workbooks and textbooks on a table in the hallway there that had a sign reading "Please take whatever you would like."

You guessed it -- I had my husband help me carry a bunch of workbooks out :)

Not me, I learned my lesson years ago. There's a point of diminishing return...

I am taking two renewal APSIs (each one a week long). They are back to back. The drives are about four hours from my house, so I'll be away from home for two weeks. My son is getting married this summer, too. All of this in July. At least I got some time off this month b/c I learned to say "NO!!!!" (even to my mother who asks me to drive her and dad on a trip every summer--ha ha, the sis got the job this year)

Okay so... last day of school was June 4th. We worked in our classrooms and had meetings from 7:30 to 3:30 every day until June 10th. Professional development started June 11th!?! Four days total (for now), yesterday was actually my first day of summer vacation. Some of my students were surprised to find out I was STILL working! :)

I'm going to the 4 day NECC in Washington DC from June 28th to July 1st. And I'm pretty excited about that because I've never been there :)

Then 2 more days to learn about developing rubrics in mid-July. And then 2 more days in August, where we'll be trained by a professional on how to use our curriculum boxes.

On top of reading a ton of books for my professional development this summer. Supervisor told me to not do ANY work other than read and journal about the reading. Between reading and PD, I have a fair amount of work. :)

Okay, everyone, we need to pinkie-swear that next year we will take the summer off and we will NOT sign up for every bit of development that comes along

The only thing I signed up to do is a book study (concerning math centers) that meets for three weeks (only one day each week) for 2 hours at Panera Bread. Now that's my kind of training!

I am only signed up for 3 things so far... I told myself no trainings in June this year. Most of the things my district offers are this month, or they are something I am NOT interested in.

No - none at all. We don't have a lot of that during the summer or I don't know about it or they cut it due to budgets but I'm glad!
