I am. I haven't gotten up before 7:00 all summer long!!! School starts Monday. I'm setting my alarm clock, the alarm on my phone, and I'm having my dad call me when I'm supposed to get up. :p

I always worry, but I never wake up late. The anticipation of the first day has me up at least an hour before my alarm clock each year.

I am suuuuuper paranoid about this! I set a million alarms and I tell myself each night, "Okay, now get some GOOD sleep, but you HAVE to wake up when your alarms go off." It seems to do the trick!

I often set multiple alarms. I hardly sleep the night before ever. I have only had one problem being late for work- I actually fell asleep on the bus and woke up 10 blocks past my stop. I was 5 minutes late and sort of mortified. But everyone at work just laughed it off.....

Well, I WASN'T until you mentioned it :p

Seriously, nope. I'm very much a morning person. Sure, it will be hard getting back to a 5 am alarm from my normal 6:30.

But I leave the house at 7, and I start a week before my kids. If I don't have to get them up and out, getting myself out of the house in half an hour isn't a big deal.

Plus our first week (well, after the first day of meetings) is freshman orientation, and I won't have a homeroom. So if, for the first time in my whole career, I was late for work, it wouldn't be a big deal.

I always set 2 alarms. However, one of our 2 dogs wakes me about 2 minutes before the alarm goes off. She eats at 4:30am, and reminds me about it every morning at 4:28.

I have an alarm that allows me to set two times for it to go off. Also, my dog never lets me sleep late. He's on a schedule.

No, I have biological alarms clocks that won't let me sleep past 5. (Otherwise known as cats.)

I'm not a morning person at all. I always set my regular alarm clock and my cell phone alarm just to be safe.

Least of my worries. I was up at 4:30 this morning.

Sleeping in means I get up as 6.

I'm incredibly paranoid about waking up late-all the time! I set three alarms daily, in case one doesn't work. I know it's a little weird!

 I wake up at least 3 or 4 times in the night, freak out that I overslept, and then finally relax when I check the clock and it's only 1:30!

It goes away pretty fast, though, when you have to get up at 5.

I overslept twice at my old school. I was only late once, the other time I made it, barely. I now have two alarm clocks. I grew up in the country and we lost electricity everytime the wind shifted. I've NEVER trusted electric clocks. One clock is on the night stand and the other is set for the latest possible time to wake up and it's across the room. :)

So far my paranoia has come true! Twice... we have been in school for a total of 7 days... and one time i didnt wake up until 640... after dreaming of being late. But the worst was the morning I woke up at 702... my heart was in my throat.

This week I said I'm not going to push myself so hard.

Yes, and I actually have a good reason to be paranoid. My alarm (which is on my cell phone) periodically does not go off. This happens quite a bit. It seems like I have to turn my phone off and then on again to make sure the alarm goes off without probems.

Actually when I get a teaching job, I will enjoy sleeping in. Right now I commonly wake up at 4:30 for work. Even if I teach high school (which starts the earliest in my district) I can sleep until 5:30-6:00am... LOVELY!

This is actually the dream I have before I go back to school - that I am late. But I never am. I am a fairly light sleeper so my alarm always wakes me up. And I usually get up naturally anyway.

We had a teacher who was just getting over a cold. He overslept (heard a weird noise in his room and discovered it was his alarm clock that he had flipped upside down in his sleep). It was already 7:55 and school starts at 8:05. Needless to say he was a little late. He called the secretary and they found someone to cover his first period. We teased him for quite some time, but needless to say - it happens! (Students didn't think anything of his door not being open before school because we often have parent meetings or committee meetings in the morning.)

I only worry about it on days that I'm the only one who has to get up. If dh is going in to work, he's up before me. My high schooler & I are on almost the same schedule.

Same here. I can't sleep at all the night before I have anything in the AM (even just an early morning dentist appointment!). So for the first 3-4 weeks of school I'll probably get half the amount that I'll get the rest of the year!

Am always paranoid, but usually wake up early. Most of my nightly nightmares before school have to do with showing up late or on the wrong day or missing one of my classes because I have to go to the bathroom and can't find one that isn't filthy or totally in the public! Hmmm, insecurity?

I'm very paranoid about waking up late. I tend to sleep through alarms, even when I go to bed really early. Sometimes my alarm will go off for 45 minutes before I even hear it. :( I always set 2 alarms.

This past year I actually did sleep in on a school day. I have to be to work at 8, and the kids come at 8:30. I live 20 minutes from school, and I woke up at 7:50. I made it to school by 8:25!

Yes I am paranoid, especially since my alarm didn't go off this morning(so I could go to church). Luckily my room mate woke me up when she got up. Tonight I'm setting the alarm clock and the cell phone alarm.

I always worry. I once slept through a fire alarm. I set three alarms but once I get into a schedule, I'm a bit better. I will have my mom call me to make sure I'm up on the first day. My husband also sleeps through alarms! :)

Same here. I can't imagine sleeping so soundly that I don't hear an alarm--must be all those years of sleeping with one ear open listening for kids.

YES, YES, YES!!! I am so worried. Plus I've gotten used to my husband wakin me up that I don;t hear the alarm clock anymore. Well over the summer he took a new job and he has to be there at 5:30, which means he leaves here at 5am!! I get up between 6 and 630 .... I have no idea how I'm going to get up on my own!!! I am very worried about it. I guess I'll get him to call me at 6 for the first couple of weeks and maybe I'll start getting used to listening for the alarm!

I am really paranoid too! I will wake up 5 times in the night thinking that I overslept. Luckily I have never overslept so late that I missed work :).
