Got my booster 2 weeks ago (Pfizer). My wife got hers today. Now we need to apply for our certificate to prove we are fully shot for when we travel abroad. No actual plans apart from a visit to Finland set up for May 2022 (Ice hockey world championships) but you never know, a visit to the US before the NHL season ends might happen!

I got mine last week. My arm was a little sore, but that happens with all shots.

Of this new variant is as bad they claim, what are the chances we go back virtual?

I doubt my school will ever go virtual again. We were only virtual for 9 weeks. We’ve been in person since August 2020, although virtual was an option last year for some kids. I won’t miss teaching both at the same time.

So we'll need a booster, possibly a new vaccine shot for the new mutation plus another booster. Goodness.......

It's endemic, like flu. New vaccines and boosters every year...or 6 months.

I can't get my booster until February.
Has anyone gotten a flu shot this year? I was trying to schedule one and there were no slots. I'm going to have to just somewhere that does walk ins. Probably a pharmacy like CVS. Our school is requiring it.

    Really?
I had no trouble getting a booster and a flu shot. Northern California.
You'd think the district would provide a way to getting a booster if it's required but hard to get.

Yes, but don't you have to wait 6 months to get the booster? My 6 months are up in February.

Ah! I didn't connect with the reason for February. I thought it was purely scheduling and supply.

I got my flu shot and booster at the same time because it was the only way I’d actually get both. I was very sore the next day, but I did manage to find a grocery store pharmacy that had walk-ins available.

CVS and Walgreens near me are appointment only and, at least when I was trying to get my booster, scheduling a few days to weeks out. It was really hard to find appointments.

I'm here in NJ and the latest on the new variant is that you really don't have to wait for six months to receive the booster shot since the transmission for the new variant seems to be high, and can possibly get around some of the protection from the vaccine. Just saw on the news this evening that getting the booster early can really raise the amount of protection you will have. If you are considered immunocompromised I believe that you can be boostered at less than 6 months. If you had the Janssen vaccine, you only have to be two months after the initial dose.
