    1. What software/website do you use?

    2. Does your software link your lesson plans to curriculum mapping?

    3. Does it have standards that you can add to your plans and maps?

    4. Is your software web-based and do you parents have access to grades via a website?

    5. Does your software have any "bugs" in the programming? For example, if you type in a grade, does it just disappear on you for no apparent reason?

Thanks for your help! I am on a quest to find an effective software.

    1. What software/website do you use?
    Infinite Campus

    2. Does your software link your lesson plans to curriculum mapping?
Yes, there is a lesson planning part.

    3. Does it have standards that you can add to your plans and maps?
I'm not sure. I've never looked.

    4. Is your software web-based and do you parents have access to grades via a website?
    Yes to both parts.

    5. Does your software have any "bugs" in the programming? For example, if you type in a grade, does it just disappear on you for no apparent reason?
On more than one occasion I hav spent hours putting in grades or working in the program at home, and then I get to work to find that NOTHING is there! :help:

Thank you for taking your time to reply. I know, it is frustrating when a program that was paid for doesn't work properly. I makes the teacher look bad or makes more work. I find it aggravating! :dizzy:

Yes, very much so! Thank you for your reply! It's encouraging to know that there is a great software like this out there. Hopefully, they will expand to Florida! :)

We have a wonderful gradebook program that makes doing report cards a breeze. www.gradelink.com However, it's missing the component that allowed us to do lesson plans. Here is a list of different lesson plan programs we looked at. I know some of them have a gradebook component.

We ended up just making a template on Google Docs for our lesson plans but we may change to an official program in the future.

Power School and Infinite Campus are essentially the same, but they are a lot different than normal windows programs. I would rather use Microsoft Excel. I keep wondering why Excel is not more popular. Yes, P/S and I/C do have links to standards as well as all the other things. But in my opinion we can do all of that easier with Excel.

Excel is the way to go, but if you don't know what your doing it would be a nightmare.

Infinite campus is a headache. It is difficult to contact parents through it or allow parents to contact you. I have used it once or twice but my cooperating teaching complains almost daily about how it recorded incorrect grades or crashed on him.
