I would like to create a class Twitter page and manage it through my personal profile. Is this possible? Or do I have to create an entirely new profile for my class and log into it when I need to post something?

I know Facebook allows this. You can get all the notifications sent to your personal page rather than having to log in and out of two different accounts (class and personal).

I mean Twitter profile. I want to have an @myclass thing that I control through my @myregulartwitterself thing.

I think I figured out how to do it on my phone, but that method doesn't seem to work through a desktop computer. I guess it will have to do.

You might need an app like Tweet Deck on a PC. You can also use hashtags to keep everything in one place.

I know multiple accounts is easier to do on a mobile device -- I only have one account so I don't know for sure, but I think alternate twitter handles require different logins. The app is set up to switch easily. The computer... not so much.

I was going to recommend Tweet Deck as well. My friends who manage both personal and professional accounts use that platform.

TweetDeck would allow you do this. You would have a "column" in TweetDeck dedicated to your @myclass. It is a free download.

I use Tweetdeck, but I also use Twitter Wall, which I project on the screen so we can all see what everybody else is saying about the topic. Students at home can follow TwitterWall or the hashtag, and it's always exciting when the department head answers or asks questions or raises comments, too.
