    Hi Everyone,
This may seem an odd request, but having recently moved to a town where I cannot find a single teachers' store I am somewhat at a loss as to where I can buy books and other supplies. I'm looking for stuff for my own kids as well as the classroom. A colleague suggested shopping online but I'm pretty new at this kind of thing, anyone know anywhere good??

Don't worry a bit. You can get anything online.

First of all, check ebay and ebay stores. Then, all the big office supply stores sell online. I like www.reallygoodstuff.com as well as www.classroomdirect.com for other stuff. www.scholastic.com may still have its $1 sale going on, also. But hurry. Go to the teacher store section.

I buy all my books, including teacher resource books, online from Amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com. I can usually find things used, at a very good price, and I save a lot. I rarely buy any resource books new anymore! If you are looking for classroom supplies, try carsondellosa.com. I have had good luck ordering on line through them. (no teacher stores near here, unless I drive 45 minutes or more)

I would recommend half.com if you find a book you like on another site. You might find it cheaper there. HTH!

This place really does have "good stuff"!!

Last week, I placed an online order from them on Saturday night, & it arrived at my school that Thursday. (2 small items were missing from the shipment so I had to call & they are sending them a.s.a.p.)

I just got their "Today's Centers Magnetic Kit". It's great!! I should've gotten it 10 years ago!!

Personally, I love ebay. You do have to watch out for the crazies who pay a ton of money, but I do come across goodies every once in a while (like my quiz pens 6 for 6.00!!! That was shipped). My teacher store has those for 10.00 each.

I have bought things on half too. I usually compare prices between the two sites.

    I have used www.callowayhouse.com too. and www.schoolspecialty.com

I can symathize! I'm 50 miles from the nearest teacher store . . . and 20 miles from a Wal-Mart. Really Good Stuff is one of my favorites, as is School Specialty.
