Anyone else taking TExES single subject tests on Saturday? I'm taking the ELA 8-12 exam at 8am. Thought it might be nice to touch base and commiserate/celebrate a bit in following the exam. Hope all last minute studying is going well!

    Good Luck All!

I am taking the CAT version tomorrow. I am soooo nervous it's not even funny. I only had a week to get ready. I am taking the Math 8-12 one.

Good Luck Loretin! Be sure to check back in and let us know how it goes, but I'm sure you'll do just fine! I only had a few weeks to study. It's a lot to cram in the brain at one time! The ELA exam has a constructed response section. That's the part I'm feeling is the biggest "unknown" for me at this point.

I do wish they offered ELA in the CAT version. I'd much prefer that to the paper test, especially because essay! I'm afraid my brain has been conditioned to write better via keyboarding rather than pencil to paper!

Good luck vibes headed your way!:2up:

Thanks!! Good luck to you too. I took my exam today and I am glad this part is over. I just hope I passed it :)
I agree with you, I really prefer computer based exams, I spend so much time typing that I can write better and faster via keyboarding than pen to paper :)

Let us know how do you do :D

I took the CAT 4-8 generalist today. I thought I was going to bomb, but I think I did reasonably well, don't know if I passed though. There were about 5-10 that I guessed on. I'm taking the History 8-12 CAT on Wednesday. I'm pretty confident about it, but need to do a lot of review.

The same thing happened to me with the Math 8-12. Good thing is that we will have our results in a few days. Let us know how you did :)

Sorry everyone...just got back in from Dallas this weekend. I still live most of the time in Minnesota. I know that I did my best. I used all of my time and feel really good about my essay. I got to the top of the fourth page and feel that it was all relevant. I hadn't read (or heard of) one of the excerpts before but I still managed to choose a theme that was the major concept of that book. So I felt really good about that...I think I picked up on the correct elements in the passages.

There were a handful of multiple choice questions that threw me for a bit of a loop, though. I swear I must have identified at least 2 of the prototype questions because they were incredibly subjective. I finally just had to leave the alone and move on...and then finally, to just leave!

So, I think I did well...I know I did my best. But, we'll just have to see in a few weeks. I hate the waiting...

I passed 4-8 generalist and am taking the History 8-12 test this afternoon. I was thrilled. I hope I've studied enough for today's test. I'm pretty confident about it, but you never know.

I just got my results for History 8-12, and I passed with a 267. It was a pretty hard test with a lot of reading. If you take this one, make sure you are not tired. I was very sleepy reading through this test before my break.
