    Navy wife here, currently overseas.

My career has been so destroyed by my spouse's, I just wanted to see what other folks experiences have been.

I've been subbing on and off since I graduated college (4 moves in 5 years!) Taught one year in 3rd grade. Credential expires end of the month and can't renew.

I am. We talked quite a bit before I moved to Hawaii-you were so helpful! Are you still here in Hawaii?

I've been lucky so far. We've only been stationed 2 places, but I've worked every year so far. I'm in my 5th year of teaching right now. But I'm worried for the time that I won't be able to find a job-I know it will happen if my husband stays in the military.

Army reserve wife here. We have been very lucky that we haven't had to move. He's been stationed for the last 3 years in south Texas and we have stayed put. He might have an opportunity to work overseas so that might put my plans on hold....

Goehring~you're in Italy right now, right?

My husband was in the Army for 8 years and is now going back to school. I only knew him for the last 4 years, but in that time he was deployed to Iraq and came back with a collapsed lung (hence why he is no longer in the Army).

Just found out my two oldest nephews are now going to join the Air Force. Not sure how my sister is taking it. I definitely give props to the women whose husbands are lifers...not sure I could ever have the strength to do that!

    Former Army wife here.
I had to put my career on hold while my DH served. It made it harder for me to find a job when he was discharged.
I didn't mind the Army life, but we were never stationed here in the states. I wish we would have been.

Feels good to be not alone, I suppose! I've been subbing for several years with all the moves. I had to do a background check for the DODDS school and I had to list the dates and someone who knew me every time I was unemployed in the last 7 years. That took awhile!
