Are you still going for it? Or has it already passed? If the time hasn't passed, I will try to offer my two cents. :2cents: :D

I'm so sorry; I hoped to be hearing you clear from PA today.

Yes, keep applying! People quit, numbers change, etc.

When does school start in your area?

Last year I was hired 12 days before school started. I signed my contract on Friday before pre-planning started on Monday. Another teacher I know was hired the morning school started when more kids than expected showed up. Keep sending your stuff out to everyone!!

They also frequently hire AFTER school has started, due to increased enrollment and other reasons. Don't give up!

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get the job. Keep sending your resume everywhere. You never know when there will be an opening. I know that we have teachers in our school that have been looking elsewhere and could be leaving right up until the last gun is fired. I was hired for a job last year in December. You never know what might happen.

    Good luck!

Take extra classes and get your reading endorsement. I think that will really help you. I had to take 3 extra classes. I became a Title I teacher and they would not let me go before I got tenure. It was my job security. Title I teaching was great! Since then, I have taught 1st, 7th, and now starting 4th.

I'm sorry you didn't get the job.

Apply EVERYWHERE!!! Tonight!! Apply directly to the principal of any school you might remotely think of working at, regardless of whether or not they've posted an opening.

That way, if the princpal comes back to work August 1st after having July off, only to find he has lost a teacher, your resume and cover letter will be there waiting for him!

    Good luck!

    Don't get discouraged!

:) Don't get discouraged! I graduated college May 1990 - did 7 interviews with principals - said the same thing to all of them basically. The last interview hired me - 3rd week of school. BE CONFIDENT!!! Don't let them see your nerves! :)
