Any concerns or stipulations about this year?

I will have a very big class this year... New math/ reading "curriculum" which is more stuff the reading specialist has found online. Last year was very rough and I am just hoping that this year is much better.

 

I am freaking out because we just found out we'll have 30 students per class...so since I have 2 classes, I will have 60 students! And our rooms are tiny!

 

Not really freaking out yet (I go back right after Labor Day) but the new eval system has me a bit worried, as well as the uncertainties that are surrounding my school right now with staff, security, and new programs. But my class is supposed to be a good one...and I need one after last year's bunch!

 

Feeling alone. My best friend (who kept me sane throughout the work day) left and won't be returning. I'm not close to any of the other grade level members at all and I'm already having anxiety.

My class--my class last school year (2012-2013) was awful (I think the only reason is because I was pregnant and on maternity leave, but still).

Dealing with the administration. They are very mean, rude, unprofessional, and evil (that's all I am going to say and I am very serious with that statement).

Dealing with the parents--I was already reported to the district over something very petty.

I am worried about our new curriculum and incorporating common core.

I am just scared about everything. I'm having anxiety.

I haven't heard if I still have a job... I won't find out until mid to late August. I'm at a small private school and numbers are very low.

 

At a new school, with a new Principal, new curriculum to learn, and new evaluation system to put on a show for. Just a lot of uncertainties.

1. Our team leader may not be coming back which means I am next in line because it's determined by number of years on the team

2. Common Core Math (it was so difficult last year...they kept changing things and often times the lessons didn't match the bench mark exams. The math specialist offered no support, so we were feeling our way through the dark)

3. New reading curriculum

4. The mice (they were bold last year...whenever I turned off the lights or the students were sitting quietly for a few minutes, the face would dash back and forth across the floor)

 

We will have a different team leader this year (I hope that goes well), a new teacher on our team (I hope everyone clicks well, he will be the only male on our team), and one of my parents is a very famous rock star, which is starting to make me feel a little nervous (though excited).

 

These are my three issues as well! Lack of time is the worst- they are not doing my floors until SATURDAY. Students start MONDAY!
