So I received a voicemail on my lunch break from the local school district Bilingual Department. I called and left a message saying I'd be in at 3. Never got a response but figured better go in. My boss couldn't let me leave work til 2 so I rushed home changed got my portfolio and left. I couldn't believe my luck. Just yesterday I was pouting and feeling sorry for myself, trying to figure out what I'd do if I didn't get a job this year. The interview went well. The main lady to interview me was really nice and she's also on the board of the place where I work. They asked me if I didn't get a teaching job would I be an IA in their department and I said yes but honestly I probably wouldn't. At the end she said something about me being so young (I"m 23 already a year out of college) and that she was happy and excited for me. She said Monday the principals come in and she will give her a list of ppl for the open ELL positions so that would be a 2nd interview. Also she was saying starting Monday the job preference starts so ppl will be moving around in buildings so yes everyone there is hope for us yet.... Thought I'd share my story....maybe it will give someone else hope too!
