This morning I was called for an interview at the elementary school I attended as a child!! I'm so excited!! It's a yearlong leave replacement but it's definitely a start. I have a better feeling about this one than I did my other two interviews, plus it's right down the street from my house.

I interviewed there at the end of May for a substitute teaching position for the upcoming school year and the person who interviewed me (I think it was the business administrator) was really impressed with me. I wonder if he passed the word along to the super. :D

My interview last Thursday was also at the school I attended as a child. :). I'm so old that only one teacher is still there from when I attended, though, and she is now in her sixties! She was brand-new when I was there.

Haha I'm only 24 but there are only 3 teachers that are still there from when I was a child. The gym teacher, the librarian, and my 2nd grade teacher (who was also brand new when I had her haha). A lot of my younger sister's teachers are still there though. :D The principal was also my 8th grade science teacher but I think she's leaving in September.

What town if I may ask? (I am in the Burlington, Camden county area)

I am older than you and I subbed for my 1st grade teacher at another school in the district (not my alma mater). I was in her first class out of college. 30 some-odd years teaching and she still looked sorta the same.

I live/the interview is in Northern NJ :) So not your neck of the woods.

When I was in college I had to observe three different classrooms and write a huge paper comparing and contrasting different educational aspects and I observed my former first grade teacher. It was her last year of teaching that year before retiring. I was 20 at the time of this paper and she was old when I had her :D

Now be careful! She may have been as much as 70, which would have made her 56 when she taught you. Granted that is old to a first grader, but it's not OLD. ;).

Speaking as a very young 46 year-old here!

Haha sorry ladies, 46/56 aren't old :D It was just shocking to me that she was still around (but not as shocking for her to see me in a teaching program...she was like 'You're going to be a teacher?? OMG!' [i had a lot of trouble following directions in first grade hahahaha])

Eh..I'm not sure. I left work early and I was driving home when I got a call asking me if I could come in 20 minutes earlier than originally planned. I said yes because I knew if I said no I would probably have to reschedule and I can't afford to take off work again. So I had to rush to get there but luckily I made it with 5 minutes to spare.

Then at the school I ran into a teacher who went on and on about how hard it was to get a job and how the population was declining and all that...both those things just made me more nervous! So it didn't go as well as I had hoped it would. I'm not expecting a call back lol.
