I love it! I got the same border and little peace signs. Where did you get the larger boarder and the poster?
I love your room! But, I can't read your writers' quotes. I'd love to know what they are - I do the same board every year! Thanks Harper
Thanks all! Harper, I'll post my quotes on here this afternoon. Right now I've got to go get ready for NEW TEACHER ORIENTATION! I know it's just a meeting, but I'm so excited!!
Here are the quotes I used on my board: ”I think I did pretty well, considering I started out with nothing but a bunch of blank paper.” ~ Steve Martin "If you write one story, it may be bad; if you write a hundred, you have the odds in your favor." - Edgar Rice Burroughs "Every writer I know has trouble writing." ~Joseph Heller "Only in grammar can you be more than perfect." ~William Safire "There are three rules for writing. Unfortunately, no one can agree what they are." - Somerset Maugham "The hardest battle is to be nobody but yourself in a world that is doing its best, night and day, to make you everyone else." ~ e.e. cummings
I think it was Ray Bradbury who said, "You only fail if you stop writing." I love that one! And Mark Twain, "Use the right word, not its second cousin."
Love the writing quotes, too! I use, "Writing, to me, is simply thinking through my fingers." Isaac Asimov
Thanks for the quotes, I may have to add these to the board. Mid-semester I'm thinking about having the students create their own quotes about writing and placing them on the board. We'll see if I get this done; I have a feeling it is going to be a busy year!
