I just started playing this on the Nintendo switch and am addicted.
    Anyone else play this game?
I have questions such as can I always just play by myself or is it essential to find friends?
How do I get the spider that drops down from the tree?
How do I get up the embankment to the rest of the island?
I cannot seem to fly elsewhere without a friend or code.

    What a relaxing game!
I've answered all of my own questions and have new ones. lol
I've learned that my questions get answered as I play.
I'm also playing Tetis 99 and Super Mario Bros.
I've never been much of a gamer but find it fun during these times.

I have heard that some games that people play (not necessarily Nintendo though) have FAcebook fan pages so maybe you can ask your questions if you can find a group or page to join. My sister used to play that Farm game and I know she found friends to add to the game on Facebook.

I started playing last week and got no actual work done all week. This week has been better... I haven't been completely attached to the switch. I'm very fond of my little virtual garden though! Lots of mums and roses and wind flowers, and I just planted some tulips today.

To get the spider that drops down from the tree, first shake the tree to get it to appear. Then, quickly equip your net and then catch it.

You can only scale the embankment once you get the ladder. To get the ladder, I think you have to first pay off your house and do a few other things first.

You can fly with a Nook Ticket that you can buy for 2000 Nook Miles from the electronic kiosk to the right of Tom’s tent. You can travel to other islands and recruit people who are visiting the island. This unlocks more features in the game.

    Good luck!

Alternatively, get the net out and THEN shake the tree. This is also how to avoid getting stung by wasps...

It's the perfect amount of annoying to ensure that you don't spend every waking moment playing it. At least that's been my experience. There's enough relaxing/mindless things to do to take up a fair amount of time, but the little irritating things about it make sure I turn off the Switch every so often and rejoin the real world.

Oh, I have found those games can be very addictive. I played 1 for over 7 yrs in the cold winters up here. You'd never guess a teacher would get addicted to MW, but I did. I had a little under 5K ( max) friends on FB cus it kind of helped me. I had friends who wrote code and scripts for everything who helped me get way ahead in the game and it was fun, but could get stressful.
Before that time, I'd never have spoken to or added anyone to a FB page if I did not know them personally. I never was too reckless by giving out too much info, but did make a couple of really good friends on that game over the years. ( Others were friends on the game, but not real life.)
It started out a friend of mine's kid asked me to join her group. I had no clue how to play those games, and kept saying, "No!" Then 1 day, she talked me into it.
I went down the rabbit hole. I had a bot to run 3 games, so they would play while I was at work. I was so addicted though that I gave my house sitter instructions on certain things that had to be done on the game manually daily when I'd go to Hawaii! lol Funny, but not really! I'd advise anyone to be very careful before starting some of these online games.

I am learning how to hybrid my flowers. Hoping I planted and water correctly so it works.

I finally got the ladder but still struggling to catch that spider or anything that drops fro a tree lol. I traveled to another island but always the same island. I hope to get a new fruit or flowers once.

Agree! I find the time it takes to sell quite annoying.

My turnip selling prices are never higher than the buying price.
What do I need to do?

Check twice a day all week. My highest prices so far have been Fridays. Prices update at midnight and noon. Don't buy unless they're under 100 bells.
Honestly though, turnips have a terrible return on bells regardless. I make way more money selling fish, bugs, shells, and fruit. Plant a few orchards of whatever your two main fruits are plus coconuts. Every 3 days I get 27 peaches, 30 pears, and 20 coconuts. I make bank on just those.

Hahaha it reminds me of that FArmville game. I played a bit but my sister was a fanatic and always had to stop what she was doing and water her crops LOL

Teacher NY...Farmville was popular w/ some people at the same time I was addicted to MW. The game itself sounds horrible, and it is out of character for me to play a game like I did, but once I started, I was hooked. The friend's daughter who talked me into "helping her" on the game quit within a month.

I've googled turnips buying and selling. I've only purchased between 85-97 but can not get higher than 72. I read how some get 300-600! But no one states how. Luck I guess.

I luckily got another fruit! So now I have my native fruit oranges, cherries from mom, coconuts, and apples! I also got bamboo visiting an island but it doesn't offer much other than make furniture items. at least I think.

I've also heard big bells can by made by hybrid flowers. So I started spreading and watering gardens.

I haven't been able to wake the duck on the beach either. lol

Do you have Nintendo online? I've been thinking about doing a week trial just to do some island hopping to get other fruits. I have peaches and pears but cannot get apples, cherries and oranges!

I do! I use it mainly for tetris 99. I honestly have no clue how to use it for acnh but I am willing to try.
My nieces are currently buried in my device and adding orchards and flowers. They added pears and peaches over the weekend somehow. Moved my house!!! LOL
