I agree. Phil will be next. this was a painful show all around. First of all, that Idol Cares stuff is a good portion of the show...... how about doing something for the poor kids right under our noses.... but that's a whole other issue. Anyway, JLO is very beautiful..... and she lives right next door to the kid I babysit for. She walks her dog they say and is friendly. Hubby is another story they say
They have turned Sanjaya into a big joke. The whole business with "stand up" "sit down"...it was annoying.
I'm wondering if the fact that there are so many strong ones are splitting the votes between the rest. I'm also wondering what they are going to do next week for the bottom 3.
Has Sanjaya ever been in the bottom three? I haven't really been watching that long.....so I have no idea.
I still don't understand how shows like Dancing With the Stars and The Apprentice can limit the number of calls you make, but Idol can't.
I don't think so, was he? Okay, so AI is doing something good with all their big bucks. That doesn't mean it should get a lot of time on the show. Sheesh. Ryan's whole stupid stand/sit stuff is more than annoying. Phil is next. I liked J Lo this week. She was very natural. But the song stunk.
I don't think it was a good idea for Jennifer Lopez to sing a Spanish song. Most people who watch Idol probably don't speak Spanish, but I am sure she is doing it to push her new album. On the positive side, her message was good to the contestants, I thought anyway. I think Phil or Chris will go next week. I really like Jordin, but she needs to match Melinda's and Lakesha's intensity and talent to win. I think Blake is the only guy who has a great voice. So who do you think will get it this year? guy or girl? anyone?
I think Jordin will get it. Ultimately, I think Melinda's too "mature" to be an AI. I think Jordin is fresh, young and full of energy. I hope she makes it. Something tells me Lakisha is losing steam. I don't think she's so wonderful anymore. As for the guys, I agree, Blake is the only one I see to make it. I think it will be a female this year.
He hasn't been on yet, but I know he is supposed to be. Hmm, I hope someone does, " I hope you dance" next week....we shall see...
I love Garth Brooks, but unfortunately, i don't think any of the remaining guys can do him justice.....
I was just thinking I hope no one attempts "Thunder Rolls" I also think I might have spellen Leann's name wrong? oh well.
I love country, it's what I listen to most. To me, though, it's also one of those types of music that you really have to like to do it justice. Can you imagine Sanjaya singing a George Strait song???
I agree, just like Latin music... country needs passion... I think that's the element that's missing the most this season. No one is really making that connection.
I think they will stick with more mainstream country..... stuff that everyone knows.. I'm not too familiar with current stuff, but the Rascal Flatts are all over the place lately. Do they have any songs you see these guys/gals singing?
God Bless the Broken Road. I'd almost be surprised if no one sang this. I can also see one of the guys attempting Keith Urban too. I do wonder if anyone would pick a Dixie Chicks song and how/if at all that would make a difference in voting.
I love Martina McBride. I'm not crazy about "I Hope You Dance." I love Idol is finally bringing in a few current guests. I love God Bless the Broken Road. I like Melinda in spite of her matureness. Remember Clay was dorky. I wish Idol limited their votes too. I like Blake. Sanjaya has progressed, but it's ruint for me. I don't mind the promo on charity. They have just as much of a right to promote their goodwill as everyone else does. Caution: Simon HATES country. I've watched all 6 seasons and I can't figure out if I'm not feeling it this season because I have it on tivo (it's not urgent and live) or if something really is missing for me this season. There is obvious talent. So what's up?
I wish American Idol would limit the calls you make as well. That really would make that "Vote for the Worst" nonsense a lot less effective. I would like to see Sanjaya, Chris, and Phil go next. Melinda, Jordin, and LaKisha are my favorites. Melinda is my #1 favorite for this season.
Sanjaya has made the whole thing into a joke. He is horrible and much better singers are kicked off. Haley was a better singer than him even! By the way, I know she is not a super singer, but she did a grand performance last night as her last song. I thought "That girl has some guts to go out in the audience and shake it when she just got kicked off. That impressed me. She behaved like a real performer! Lakisha . . . I love her singing, but she needs to sparkle more. She looks defeated to me, and scared, like, "Someone is going to find out I don't belong here." Really love Blake. He is consisitently on pitch and fun to watch. With the Sanjaya thing, it is all totally up in the air. Grrrrrrrrrr.
It's marketing. Dancing and Apprentice aren't out to sell anything. Idol wants to know how many people would go out of their way (ie, buy records) for their favorite performer. Those who vote frequently might be counted on to buy lots of recordings and/or concert tickets.
I saw a segment on Fox news tonight, they went out on the streets to ask people who they felt would be next to get kicked off Idol. Everyone said Sanjaya!!
boy, I had to dig to find this thread! Okay, my guess is Phil will go this week. I'm ready for the show to start. I heard Haley on Regis and Kelly, she wasn't that good. oh well.
