I finally started (and finished!) my clipboard for teaching. This little project has been on my "To Do" list for a few months (my last clipboard had a picture of my baby when he was 6 days old-he'll be 2 next month  )

Anyway-start to finish it only took about an hour.

I've never done an image before so if it doesn't show up you can see it here http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/pg.asp?gallery=1&cmd=display&layout_id=1195532.

I love clipboards and use them a lot when teaching (I actually have a few altered ones). This one is my main one that I'll keep my lessons, handouts, class list and other at my fingertip items. My others are half size and I use them for taking notes/anectodals.

When I student taught 3rd I taught my class how to alter a clipboard (small) as part of the measurement unit. They turned out really cute.

the technique-I din't have any medium on hand so I just watered down some elmers.

    Instructions:

Gather and cut your paper to size. (used SEI paisley pack)

Mix up decoupage medium (elmers and water) or purchase.

Brush back of clipboard with medium. Lay bottom layer of paper and cover with coat of medium. Continue adding layers of paper, ribbon, stickers (always medium on top and bottom). Add photos and seal with medium.

Cut ribbon into 8" lengths and tie onto top (I double mine and pull through the loop-8" gives me plenty of room to trim if needed).

I love this project! I'm going to go out and get a clipboard to make one for myself!

Did you use a standard brown clipboard or a lucite one?

It came out great. I've been meaning to do some of these for me. I did some as gifts for fellow teachers and they were a big hit. I'll probably do them again for gifts this year. (in a new school.)

    are you a scrapbooker too?

standard brown (they're hard to find with the hole at the top now)

    probably got it at walmart

yes-I scrapbook quite a bit (inbetween baking/decorating cakes)

This is an altered paint cans I did for my cooperating teacher when I student taught (filled with homemade chocolates and dipped pretzles). I've done more (along a christmas line) but I can't find the pics of them :(

I'm sorry but I have to say that isn't merely a clipboard. That's a work of art! =)

Now I KNOW I've been focusing too much on technology this summer. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what a clipboard on the computer was... just as I was about to admit my ignorance, I had an epiphany...a clipboard is ...a clipboard! Wow, am I glad that I don't have to take a class on clipboards and the computer!!

The easiest way to post a picture is to go to the picture, right click and go to properties, on this page copy the URL. Above the post there are some symbols, the mountain is the picture icon. When you click on the mountain just paste the url and click ok. In an "advanced" post you can preview it and see if it shows up.
