He is a MAJOR inspiration to me and is a genius at coming up with innovative science experiments for the classroom. If you've never been to his site, check it out now! Also, have you ever tried something of his... like erupting soda or doing Halloween science? I discovered him a year ago this month when I was looking for curriculum-relevant activities for Halloween. :)

I LOVE Steve Spangler! There so should be a thread about him.

In my classroom, we have done the Diet Coke and Mentos geyser (learning about geysers and volcanoes) and we have done the snow experiement when we learned about the states of matter. Both were hits! :D

He actually came to our school years ago (before my time, unfortunately) Now he's too expensive to bring in, but everyone loves him!

    LOL -- there is. Welcome.

I think his stuff is really cool but the products are mucho expensive and mosty overrated -- a lot of it takes quite a stretch to make it educational.

I really, really want to try some of the insta-snow someday :D Maybe if I ever make that move I want to a place where it doesn't snow often I'll bring some for my class.

You can usually find the snow in just about any large teacher's store. I used it with my preschoolers when I taught in a daycare - the kids loved it - especially in the middle of summer. It's cold like snow, but not so cold as to numb the little fingers like the real stuff.

I'd love to see more videos of his TV appearances. I remember seeing one a long time ago (other than the one linked on his site). They crack me up. I've always been into this cool science stuff...
