I am new to teaching and didn't know if anyone had any ideas for after school activities. They need to be an hour long and hopefully based on a theme, but any idea you have would be helpful at this point. I think science with a 'special' name would be considered a theme at this point. By the way, the children are from grades K-3 and then 4-8. Any ideas I can build upon? Thank you in advance.
Our school had something called a Rocket Club which met once per week and built and launched rockets. What about a cooking club or craft club? When I ran an after school program we did pen pals from Ireland, and I had a group of 3-5th grade girls who participated.
I teach in a Catholic High school. Here's the list from our webpage. I realize my kids are older than yours, but maybe something here will spark an idea. (First though, and apology. On the website, it's in 3 columns, so it's in alphabetical order.) I've pulled out the "Catholic" activities-- Mass Usher and the like.
